Meet Tennessee Attorney Bernie McEvoy

I am attorney Bernie McEvoy. At my firm, I focus exclusively on defending people charged with Tennessee federal and state criminal offenses. I was an assistant district attorney general for Davidson County (Nashville) for nearly 15 years. As a prosecutor, I handled thousands of cases, ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies, including murder.

Unlike many other criminal defense attorneys, I have tried more than 100 cases in front of juries, including six years during which I and fellow district attorneys handled cases of physical and sexual abuse of children. In addition, I served for nearly six years as the head of the DUI/vehicular homicide prosecution team.

I now use my experience as an assistant district attorney to provide aggressive, effective legal defense for people charged with sex crimes, drug offenses, DUI, and other felonies and misdemeanors. Because I was a prosecutor myself, I am often able to anticipate the approach that the prosecutor will take in a criminal case. I use my experience to provide knowledgeable and insightful defense for my clients today.
